Part II

I assume if your not interested, you're not reading. So if you're not interested in the gory details of this trip feel free to skip out. It won't hurt my feelings!

Back on board,
Dan and I got really good at taking pictures of ourselves.

And we enjoyed sleeping late,

wandering around the ship,

eating food,

and sharing the ipod.

Thursday night was the formal night and we donned our nicest apparel.

I was pleased with the dress overall and let me tell you, I found some HOT shoes to go with it. I could not walk at the end of the night, but that's the sacrifice you have to make for fashion, right?

Even though it's fuzzy, here's another view of the dress. I made this up and I'm a little proud. I got the fabric for $6 dollars. There is just something about "no pressure sewing". I'm not so scared to play around or mess up. I knew if my idea didn't work out, I could still go buy a dress, and if it did work out, then I just saved myself alotta money.

And I know I could have bought a pattern and still saved money, but I have discovered that for me, most of the fun of sewing is figuring things out and trying to make the idea in my head, into a 3-D form.

I decided to try to make a swim dress cover up. I came up with this dress.

I took my time and lined the bodice, but in the end I thought it was just "alright". I got this fabric for $1 a yard, so I was even less concerned about screwing it up. The night before we left I decided to make another attempt with the leftover fabric and I was much happier with this ending.

I made some triangle pieces up the front, back, and sides of the skirt and gathered the top back with elastic thread. I especially loved the flower with the button in the center. Sorry for the chesty shot.

Every night after dinner we'd get candy and go to the show.

There were a few comedians who were surprisingly hilarious and some cheesy (and sometimes skanky!) singing and dancing shows. Seriously, I had to cover Dan's eyes for some of them.

For their Grand Gala Midnight Buffet,

They have a huge, spectacular showing of food and ice sculptures. Each piece and part is a work of art.

So after eating every 2 hours all day long, by12:30 am we could not eat one more thing! We took these pictures and went to bed!

I think one final installment should do it. Stay tuned for Cozumel!

The dresses look great. I am glad you had fun sewing them. Looks like a great time again. I am getting the vacation bug. What need to be catching is the moving bug though.

I love the dresses. I don't like patterns either. I also love it when the ideas do work out. I think I procrastinate more than you though. I am always doing the last thing and clipping threads as I go out the door. A second attempt is a miracle. You did great! The vacation sounds good too.

I can't believe you made those w/o a pattern!!!! That is truly an amazing skill.

Those shoes are very HOT. I love that you can wear heels and Dan is still taller than you.

That food looks spectacular - and the candy dispenser is cool. Who liked the food thing more, you or Dan, LOL?

You are so cute together!!!!

PPS- Was that candy included in your meal expenses or did you have to pay for it seperately?? It looks SO yummy. Oh my gosh, not to mention that incredible fruit! AUGH! You're killing me here!!

You inherited your "make it up sewing" from Chandra. She started with dolls clothes when she was eleven. No big prom dress bills with her! Ava will be getting married one day---
