We named her Muffin but it just didn't stick. "Here, Muffin Muffin!" Just didn't work like "Here Puppy Puppy". So she was a Puppy even when she was old.
We already had a dog, Dolly, but she loved my mom best. I really wanted a puppy. Really, really bad. And my birthday wish was granted. I had visions of her sleeping in my bed and being MY loyal dog forever. But for some reason (probably because my mom fed her along with Dolly) she loved my mom best, too. She followed my mom around and slept in my mom's bed.
I still liked her though. She was the middle child of sorts. Dolly was like the first born perfectionist. And after Puppy, Butch came along and he was the youngest-cute and spoiled rotten! And poor Puppy became the good dog in the middle that nobody paid much attention to and everyone took for granted.
At nearly 15 years old she was getting to be a granny. She was the last remaining of the 3 Musketeers.
She was a sweet good girl and I will miss her. And I imagine that the threesome is back together.

Love you, Puppy!

Oh, Elise, I'm so sorry! I didn't even know you had Puppy. What happened???
She looks like she was a wonderful dog.
I think it was cancer. She had a had a large tumor removed a few months ago and it came back. The vet said they could remove it again but that it wouldn't really postpone anything. He gave her about three months. But it had only been about 2 weeks...
Ohhhh, you just made me cry! You know how I feel about animals and I am sorry for your loss. :(
Weird...my comment just came through as "Cooper". Apparently Jordan created an account a while back and I didn't even know it! HA! So, this is Val, by the way!
I'm so sorry! It's like losing a sibling! I remember puppy stories and like to think all three of your dogs are in doggy heaven together.
I kept meaning to come back to this post when I had a chance to comment about Puppy. So sad. I met her that one time, and she seemed like such a sweetheart.
