Strange Stuff

Last week within two days of each other we encountered these weird things.

As we drove in the entrance to our neighborhood, we spotted something crossing the road. I slowed way down but we still couldn't tell what it was. So as any camera-toting-always-be-prepared-blogger would do, I pulled over and ran out to 1st: see what it was and 2nd: take it's picture.

The funny thing was, that we still couldn't tell exactly what it was! It was scared and/or mad and made it very clear that he did not like us gettin' all up in his face by rearing up on his back legs.

So here he is,

After a little research, I am pretty sure he is a Crawfish. What I am not so sure about, however, is why he was crossing the road in the middle of the afternoon. Maybe he lives in the lake in our neighborhood, or maybe he escaped the certain death of a backyard boil.

And a day or two later, I innocently handed Ava a small bag of Doritos to eat with her lunch. In a minute I hear her little voice ask, "Mommy, what is dis?" I turned around quickly to see this,

I think it's about 50 Doritos all burned up and coated with powdered cheese. I've yet to complain to Frito Lay but you bet I'm gonna insist on some type of compensation, maybe a lifetime supply of chips, although after seeing this, I'm not sure I'd want it.

I think you are right about the crawfish. Megan C. found one in the barn once, can you believe it? They must just pop up at the weirdest places and times! And where in the heck did you get those chips from? I might complain to them too!

That crawfish is crazy, along with the chips. I would definitely write a letter! Todd's the king of doing that and you never know what might happen! Keep us posted.

I found one of the crawfish type things crawling down the aisle in the grocery one night---not quite so out of place--he had escaped from a bucket in the meat dept.

Each of those are random enough on their own, but together? Watch out, they say these things travel in threes....

I'm just glad the crawfish wasn't in your house!

I had a bag of regular tortilla chips that had a mystery ball like that in it. Where's the quality control? And if they are missing something like that...what else are they missing???

WOW, I can't say I have seen a crawfish except in Louisianna where I would expect to see them! I need to get out more! :)
