On a Random Friday in Summer

After hearing Ava correct Luke's lunch request to a Boy Cheese Sandwich, I've learned that for the past 7 years Ava believes she's been eating Girl Cheese Sandwiches.

It's the first day this week that Max hasn't worn these.

At Kroger, I turned around after swiping my card to find Max chowing down on a powdered donut he retrieved from the trash behind the checkout line next door.  "What dees called?" He asked me with powder on his lips, and the woman in line behind us made her crusty face.

I came upon this spread at the kitchen table.

I felt the wind on my neck again after a long overdue haircut.  And I won't have to look at another gray hair for approximately six weeks.

I nearly threatened punishment on my son, who, after much encouragement and cajoling in the birthday boy's driveway, refused to go inside.  Ava went in his place, though by the time we drove away and sat at the stop sign, he yelled out, "Ok! I changed my mind!" He had a great time at the party.

I continue to feel safe in our dementor-free home.  The constant chorus, and I do mean constant, with wands and everything, of  "EXPECTO PATRONUUUUUUM!" (Or in Max's case, APECTA TRONOOOOOOO!) is very reassuring and slightly annoying, especially when I'm on the phone.

I spent a chunk of time on my 50,000 page Rome post, but ended up running over to the computer and in less than 5 minutes tapping this out.  Cause Rome is cool and all, but this little stuff is important to me too.

I love that picture of Max with the goggles! He's losing some of his baby chub.
