Remember ...

how your mom always told you not to play with money because it was dirty and you didn't know where it had been?

But really, where was money likely to have been? In a pocket? In a purse? In the drawer of a cash register? I guess those aren't exactly the cleanest places but I have never been a germ-a-phobe and I really think that there isn't much that hot water and soap or even a squirt of Germ-X can't handle.

This is why I didn't even hesitate when I saw Ava playing with some loose change on the counter. You see, she and Chicken Little (the rock) had taken a nasty, knee-banging dive off of the kitchen chair. She (and Chicken Little) were in a lot of pain. I set her up on the counter to comfort her. When she calmed down I left her there to continue with dinner preparations. She found the change and was having a great time jingling, counting, and hiding the money.

Soon, she told me she (and Chicken Little) were feeling better and needed to get down. As she ran away I could hear the money clinking and since Luke was in his highchair, figured there was no harm in letting her continue to play with it.

A few minutes later, when she asked me to help her in the bathroom, she trotted in front of me, fist closed, money still jingling.

But when we got in the bathroom and I could see that it was Chicken Little in her hand, not the money, my mind began to race. The jingling of change was very clear, but Miss Ava was in her pajamas. Pocketless pajamas.

I started to ask her about the clinking money as she pulled down her pants. And she showed me, "See, Mommy, I just put a monies in my pants."

So I just wanted to say, that your mom was right, don't play with money because you never know where it's been.

Actually, I am thrilled that she is a resourceful individual who will not be whining about not being able to do things for lack of resource---no pockets--no problem!

Hahahahahahaaa! Tell her that Autie Wendy puts her tennis balls down her bra when she doesn't have any pockets.

I was worried that you were going to find a coin that had come out in Luke's diaper...whew!
