She'd take a few bites and then say, "My tummy's full" then about 1 minute later, she'd say, "Mommy, I'm so hungry". I would make her request and then after a few bites, "My tummy's full". And the cycle would continue.
So I decided to stop it. As Kate Gosselin says, "I am not a short order cook" (But I am! So not anymore!)
I'm really trying to make something she's asked for and then nothing else, figuring if she's really hungry she'll eat it, or she can wait until the next meal. Problem is, we don't have a really set schedule around here as far as meals go, so it gets kind of gray saying I won't make anything else until lunch. Sigh.
But you know what's funny? Her meal requests. You know what was a big hit for breakfast last week? Peas! She ate 3/4 of a small bag in one morning. I didn't get to the store this past Saturday so we're still out. But when she wakes up she usually says something like, "Mommy, I'm hungry. I can have peas a breakfast? Oh, we don't have any peas? I know! Let's buy some more at a store!"
