I am feeling significantly better already and am so happy for the invention of antibiotics.
The pediatrician's office just called to let us know there was a mistake with Luke's labs.
It was positive for salmonella.
As far as I know it has resolved itself and there is nothing to be done. We will be contacted by the health department so they can track it and any similar cases.
It doesn't change anything really, though it does add a little something to our 2 week total, don't you think?
Totally unrelated, or maybe not, this hymn has been following me, like a shadow recently. Popping up here and there and always running through my mind. I sung this once in college with my friend Lara, and once in Katy with Val and Kerry R. though now I am singing it by myself with only my babies to hear me.
The tune is beautiful, but the words, oh these words. I am feeling these words. Especially the last verse.
Come , thou Fount of every blessing,
tune my heart to sing thy grace;
streams of mercy, never ceasing,
call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount, I'm fixed upon it,
mount of thy redeeming love.
Here I raise mine Ebenezer;
hither by thy help I'm come;
and I hope by thy good pleasure,
safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
wandering from the fold of God;
he, to rescue me from danger,
interposed his precious blood.
O to grace how great a debtor
daily I'm constrained to be!
Let thy goodness like a fetter,
bind my wandering heart to thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
prone to leave the God I love;
here's my heart, O take and seal it,
seal it for thy courts above.

Oh my dear friend! 2011 is really testing you! I loved singing that hymn with you and Kerry. It is one of my favorites. Miss you girl and hope you are all feeling well SOON and FOR GOOD! Get healthy already so we can rendezvous!
The salmonella diagnosis made my jaw hit the keyboard. And strep again! Hoping/praying/crossing fingers that you can all get (and stay)healthy very soon.
The cake sounds like a good idea.
I love that song! May it bring you comfort during your recovery! And you will recover-all of you-I command it:)
Some maniac was recently trying to convince me that modern medicine is evil and of the devil. Penicillin was invented from (gasp) bacteria during the evil years of WW2. Therefore antibiotics are evil and we should shun them. There are some weird people on this planet.
