Ava has always liked to get her hands dirty.

fairly typical
And her nose dirty too,

She put the mustard on her nose like sunblock. Evidently a sandwich is more fun to play with than it is to eat.
And this is how you know you've had fun at the park. Dan snapped these pictures after a recent trip, where she was "building sandcastles" in the dirt.

If you don't get dirty then you didn't play hard enough!
And this is how you know you had fun playing with friends.

This tendency is why Ava generally eats most meals without any clothes

and therefore why we generally don't have many pictures of our children with clothes on. We're just trying to keep a little clean around here!

My favorite is the mustard on the nose - she's thrilled with herself.
You do what you gotta do - we never buy Aaron any light olored clothes. He is still so messy, and will stain everything he wears.
On the opposite end, of course, is Cam. We were eating at a Fazoli's restaurant -the place with the unlimited breadsticks. Cam ate his breadstick with a fork - didn't want to touch it. Aaron was wrapping his hands around the greasy thing and then wiping them on his clothes. Sigh.
